Confirmation classes are generally offered to youth entering 7th and 8th grade. If your child is older, or you as an adult are interested in being confirmed, please contact the church and ask to speak with Suzanne Snider. Our Confirmation Program consists of two years of instruction that cover the five promises that are made during the Affirmation of Baptism. Affirmation of Baptism is made at the completion of the Confirmation Instruction.
The Five Promises of the Affirmation of Baptism
1) To live among God's faithful people
2) To hear his Word and share in his supper
3) To proclaim the good news of God in Christ through word and deed
4) To serve all people, following the example of our Lord Jesus
5) To strive for justice and peace in all the Earth
This year we will be returning to the curriculum entitled "Here We Stand." 7th and 8th grade classes will be taught separately by our Youth and Family Ministries Coordinator and Pastor Justin respectively. Confirmation class meets every Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00pm and will include a time of relationship building both between the entire confirmation class and also with our high school youth group, Mosaic. We also encourage these youth to take part in youth dinners, our Mentor Program where they will be paired up with a member of the congregation who will act as a friend, advisor, and role model throughout their instruction, a weekend retreat in March to Great Wolf Lodge, and various other activities and service projects happening within the church.
If you are interested in having your child take part in Confirmation, please contact Suzanne Snider at firstname.lastname@example.org or via telephone at 616-532-2774.
