For many centuries the church year calendar has shaped our worship: the readings, the sermons, the hymns and other music, the color of the paraments, and the appearance of the worship space. In its ministry of preparation, it is the duty of the altar guild to study the background and significance of the various seasons and festivals.
It is in the duty of the Altar Guild to care for this unique place dedicated to the honor and glory of God. Our goal is to see that the sanctuary is kept neat and beautiful to glorify God and enhance the worship for our congregation. This includes care for furnishings, linens and paraments, and preparing the worship space for the special seasons and church festivals, in addition to the celebration of the Sacrament of Holy Communion and occasional services such as baptisms and confirmation.
The Altar guild meets during the year to discuss worship planning and concerns that come to the guild through the pastor, Worship, Music and Arts Committee, or the congregation.
All are Welcome here! And we mean ALL! Ladies, men, couples, moms, daughters, CLC Sudanese members, and we especially encourage our confirmation students to come and learn how they can assist current duty members as helpers because there are many details that need extra hands!
If you believe this ministry to be of interest to you and would allow you to share God's love through service, please contact the church office with questions. This could be a rewarding opportunity for you, confirmation age youth, young adults, couples or even the entire family. For all are welcome here!
Peace and Grace are yours through the Risen Lord...
Come to Worship!
