Christ Lutheran Church is a welcoming ELCA member congregation in Wyoming, Michigan, where faith and everyday life come together. We gather for worship, grow in community, and seek to share God’s love through our words and actions. Whether you are new to church or looking for a place to belong, you are welcome here.
Who We Are
Christ Lutheran Church is an ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) member congregation, and part of the North/West Lower Michigan Synod. The ELCA is a church that believes in the saving grace of God through Jesus Christ, is committed to welcoming all people, serving our neighbors, and working for justice and peace. As members, we strive to be faithful to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Affiliation
At Christ Lutheran Church, we believe that God’s boundless grace is freely given to all through Jesus Christ. Salvation is a free gift from God, received by faith alone, apart from any works or human merit. Our faith is lived out not only in worship, but in our daily lives as we care for one another and our community.

Our staff and leadership team are here to support the life and ministry of Christ Lutheran Church. We are committed to serving the congregation and helping create a welcoming and meaningful worship experience for all.
Pastor Rob Schmidt is a second career pastor after 2 years in the Peace Corps, 7 years as a high school teacher, and two years as a middle school counselor. After graduating from Trinity Seminary in Columbus OH, Pastor Rob served 16 years at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Freeland MI before coming to Christ Lutheran Church in July 2022. Married to Sue, they have raised 4 children and have two grandchildren. Both Rob and Sue were raised in Grand Rapids and are grateful for their homecoming and being re-united with family. Pastor Rob enjoys hunting, fishing, working around the yard, home projects and being a grandpa.
